Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M. Monday January 24, 2005 at La Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispana in Garden City.
Interment: Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.


Survivors: Biviano is survived by his wife, Gloria of the Home. Three sons; Steve of South Dakota, Bebe of Garden City and Bobby also of Garden City. Two daughters; Gloryann Riojas of Garden City and Lori Gastineau of Missouri. Four brothers; Anastacio of Texas, Pablo of Oklahoma, Sammy of Texas and Refugio of Oklahoma. Four sisters; Alfonsa Vargas of Oklahoma, Pabla Guerrero of Lakin, Kansas, Mary Elena Rosales of Lakin, Kansas, Petra Gutierrez of Texas, 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.


Biviano died at Garden City Medical Center in Garden City. He was born in Smithsons Valley, Texas the son of Remijio and Petra (Ortiz) Zapata. Biviano came to Garden City in 1969 from Kenosha, Wisconsin. He lived in Lakin and worked for the Kearny County Road Service. He was a self-employed truck driver. He married Gloria Garcia on November 4, 1963 in Memphis, Texas. His hobbies were playing bingo, playing cards, fishing, baseball and coach his son in boxing and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Niclas Zapata and one sister, Genoveva Soza.


Memberships: Biviano was a member of La Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispana in Garden City.


Memorials may be made out to the Biviano O. Zapata Memorial fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Calling hours are from noon to 8:00 P.M. Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home.
