Visitation: Noon to 8:00 PM on Wednesday with family present from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM August 04, 2010 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 05, 2010 at Grace Bible Church in Garden City, Kansas (2595 Jennie Barker Rd.) with Pastor Fredi Gonzales officiating.
Interment: Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.


Bebe Zapata, 40, of Garden City, Kansas died Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on April 7, 1970 in Kenosha, Wisconsin the son of Biviano and Gloria (Garcia) Zapata.


Bebe attended school in Lakin, Kansas. In 1989 he relocated to Garden City and on September 30, 1990 he married Denise K. Banda. Bebe was also known as DJ Zapp throughout Southwest Kansas. He enjoyed fishing, camping, softball and loved spending time with his family and friends.


Survivors include his wife Denise K. Zapata of the home; four sons, Ezekiel Zapata of Garden City, Kansas, Jonathan Zapata of Garden City, Kansas, Julius Zapata of Garden City, Kansas and John Paul Zapata of Wichita, Kansas; his mother, Gloria Zapata of Garden City, Kansas; two brothers, Steve Zapata of South Dakota and Bobby Zapata of Garden City, Kansas; two sisters, Gloryann Riojas of Garden City, Kansas and Lori Gastineau of South Dakota.


He was preceded in death by his father Biviano Zapata.
