Obituary for Nathan Kirkland Jr.

Nathan Eugene Kirkland, age 39, of Lyons Kansas died Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Lyons, Kansas. He was born April 24, 1975 in Ulysses, Kansas, the son of Loyd and Phyllis (Johnson) Kirkland.

Nathan grew up in Johnson Kansas. He married Bobbie Beardsley in May of 1995, to this union four children were born, Tyler, Austen, Shanna and Courtney. He married Jami S. Taylor on March 22, 2008 in Dalhart, Texas, to this union three three children were born, Jeremiah, Darla and Elizabeth. Nathan lived in Dalhart Texas, Hugoton, Kansas; Manter, Kansas; Garden City, Kansas and was currently living in Lyons, Kansas. He enjoyed rodeo, bull riding, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. Nathan was a hard worker, loved animals especially Tebow, Cupid, Diego, and Sam. He also collected John Wayne memorabilia.

He is survived by wife, Jami S. Kirkland of Lyons. His father Loyd Kirkland of Manter, Kansas, mother Phyllis Billings of Dalhart, Texas. Sons, Tyler Kirkland of Lyons, Kansas, Austen Kirkland of Dalhart, Texas, Jerimiah Kirkland, Dalhart, Texas, Taelor Pister of Ulysses, Kansas and Dustin Pister of Ulysses, Kansas. Daughters, Shanna Kirkland of Dalhart, Texas, Courtney Kirkland of Lyons, Kansas, Elizabeth Kirkland of Lyons, Kansas and Darla Kirkland of Lyons, Kansas and Hailey Pister of Ulysses, Kansas. One brother James Kirkland of Dalhart, Texas and two sisters; Crystal Scrivner of Purcell, Oklahoma, Lorene Hart of Dalhart, Texas, Kansas and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by son; Ryan Kirkland and, his grandparents.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 14, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church, Johnson, Kansas with Reverend Brenda Davids officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
