Obituary for Kent Davis

Lawrence “Kent” Davis, 57 of Garden City died Thursday, July 17, 2014 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born December 22, 1956 in Garden City the son of Lawrence Henry & Lillian Elizabeth (Smith) Davis.
A lifetime resident of the Garden City area, Kent attended Garden City schools and graduated from Garden City High School in 1975. A laborer and mechanic, Kent worked at Fansler Bandag, Coast To Coast, Colorado Interstate Gas, the Garden City Co-op Lowe Elevator, and Concrete Industries. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Garden City and he enjoyed mechanics, handyman work, fishing, and camping.
On February 4, 1978 he married Kay A. Yardley in Garden City. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters Elizabeth & husband Jeff Clark of Aurora, Colorado, Cassandra & husband Joey Novack of Topeka, Kansas, and Alyssa & husband Jory Collier of Wichita, Kansas; his father Lawrence H. Davis of Garden City; a brother Gary Davis of Great Bend, Kansas; two sisters Shari Landgraf of Garden City, Kansas and Vickie Wilson of Winter Springs, Florida; and two granddaughters Reagan Clark and Skylar Clark. Kent is preceded in death by his mother.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Garden City. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family requests memorials given to the American Cancer Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
