Obituary for Sandy Elliott

Sandy Elliott, 73 died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at her home in Holcomb, Kansas. She was born September 12, 1941 in Roaring Springs, Texas the daughter of Luther & Amy (Powell) Drennon.
Sandy grew up with her family in Lakin, Kansas. After graduating from Lakin High School in 1957 she attended Fort Hays State University. She returned to Lakin for a short time before moving to the Garden City area. She has lived in Garden City and Holcomb since. In 1960 she married Kenneth Elliott. Sandy worked as a real estate appraiser where she owned and operated Sandy Elliott Appraisal Services. She enjoyed playing golf, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Sandy volunteered for many years as a marshal on Hole #5 at Buffalo Dunes During the Southwest Kansas Area Pro-Am Golf Tournament.
Survivors include two sons Kalon Elliott of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Derik & wife Rita Elliott of Greeley, Colorado; three sisters Linda Ochoa of New Mexico, Cindi Thompson of Wyoming, and Crystal Drennon of New Mexico; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at a later date. The family will be gathering at
1704 Fleming Street in Garden City from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6 to visit with friends and to celebrate Sandy’s life. The family requests memorials given to the NBICU at St. Catherine Hospital in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
