Obituary for Mike M. Garcia

Mike M. Garcia, 86 of Garden City died Thursday, December 4, 2014 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born August 5, 1928 in Holcomb, Kansas the son of Rosendo & Frances (Medina) Garcia.
Mike has been a lifetime resident of the Garden City area. On September 25, 1950 he married Eloise A. Mujica in Raton, New Mexico. Mike worked most of his life at the Pepsi Cola Bottling Co.. He later worked in detailing at Western Motors. Mike loved the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include 2 sons Danny D. Garcia of Las Vegas, Nevada and Michael K. & wife Angela Garcia of Garden City; a daughter Michelle & husband Joe Montemayor of Lubbock, Texas; a brother John Garcia of Lawrence, Kansas; three sisters Josephine Mancha of Garden City, Virginia Garcia of Garden City, and Ramona Garcia of Garden City; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Mike is preceded in death by his wife Eloise who died on June 27, 1998. He is also preceded in death by his parents; a brother Pete Garcia; and 3 sisters Lenora Garcia, Gilda Mancha, and Isabel Orozco.
A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 8 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City with Fr. Charles Seiwert as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday all at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family requests memorials given to St. Mary Catholic Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
