Obituary for Douglas Kent Warner

Douglas Kent Warner, age 60, of Manor, Texas died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at his home in Manor, Texas. He was born March 2, 1955 in Syracuse, Kansas, the son of Richard LeRoy “Bud” and Betty (Buhrer) Warner.

Doug grew up in rural Kansas and graduated from Ulysses High School. He moved to Omaha, Nebraska after graduation. Doug married Ann Jaynes on April 25, 1981 in Omaha. Doug obtained his associates degree from Metro Community College in Papillion, Nebraska. Doug worked at Olson Auto Group and Schrier Ford in Omaha. After living in Omaha for 30 years, the family moved to Manor, Texas. He worked himself up from a new car delivery mechanic, to assistant manager. He was currently a service advisor at KIA South in Austin. He was an avid reader, and enjoyed doing yard work. Doug would do anything for anyone. He was honest and loyal to employers, customers, and especially his family.

He is survived by his wife, Ann of Manor, Texas; sons, Mark Warner and wife Laura of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Paul Warner and wife Jennifer of Papillion, Nebraska; daughter, Lori Warner-Hartle and husband Mark of Omaha, Nebraska; mother, Betty Warner of Ulysses, Kansas; sister, Rita Gee and husband Tony of Ulysses, Kansas, Judy Dieker of Emporia, Kansas; five grandchildren, Brad, Nick, Joseph Duarte, Brianna, and Alexandria. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Tyler Dieker and wife Emily, Erica Larson and husband Andy, Justin Gee and wife Michelle, and Jodi Gee; great-nieces and great-nephews, Tessa, Aiden, Addison, and Trace.

Doug is preceded in death by his father, Bud.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Kelly Gindlesberger officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be given to the Douglas Warner Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
