Obituary for Marjorie M. Fuller

Marjorie M. Fuller, age 96, died Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City. She was born June 18, 1919 on the family farm in Pawnee County, Kansas to Fred J. & Belva (Ricks) Spreier. She attended Pawnee County Schools until moving to Hays where she graduated from Fort Hays Teacher’s College with a Major in English and a Minor in Home Economics. She received her teaching certificate and taught several years before and after her marriage to Robert H. Fuller on June 9, 1946 in Rozel. Marjorie began raising her family as her husband’s job moved the family from Ellsworth, to Russell and Hugoton before settling in Garden City in 1961. She taught her daughters to sew and cook and was very active in her church community.
Marjorie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Garden City, American Baptist Women and for many years, a sponsor for the American Baptist Girls Guild. She enjoyed her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s activities and traveling with her husband. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, who died February 2, 2001, a daughter, Lorita R. Fuller, 2 brothers, Laverne Spreier and Everett Spreier and 1 sister, Ruby Salmans.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Marsha & Kevin Siefkas of Eads, Colorado and Rhonda & David Goodloe of Garden City, 6 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Garden City with Rev. Mary Fabin presiding. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2015 at the Larned Cemetery in Larned, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to Camp Christy in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City. Calling hours are Noon to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Garnand Funeral Home.
