Obituary for Michael G. Woodard

Michael G. Woodard, 62 died Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born October 9, 1952 in Garden City, Kansas the son of Raymond Oren & Rachel Arlene (Whiteley) Woodard.
Michael lived most of his life in Garden City. He attended Garden City and graduated from Garden City High School. He then attended and graduated from Seward County Junior College and later attended Wichita State University. While living in Garden City, Michael worked as bicycle mechanic at the Tinker Shop. He also worked as a Zoo Keeper and Grounds Keeper at Lee Richardson Zoo and as a computer operator. He attended the Church of the Brethren in Garden City, and he enjoyed computers, reading, and bicycling.
Survivors include a brother Wesley J. & wife Iva Woodard of Garden City; a nephew Tim Woodard of Garden City; two nieces Rebecca Partin of Garden City and Kristi Cote of Macon, Georgia; and three cousins Earl Whiteley, Carol Warren, and Lee Whiteley all of Garden City. Michael is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers William Raymond Woodard and Victor Donald Woodard.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City with Rev. Marty Moyer officiating. There will be no calling hours. The family requests memorials given to the Michael Woodard Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
