Obituary for Delphine Schulz

Delphine Schulz, 92 died Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Kearny County Hospital in Lakin, Kansas. She was born September 1, 1923 in Gypsum, Kansas the daughter of Fred & Rilla (Smart) Fulton.
Delphine lived most of her life in various towns throughout western Kansas. On August 30, 1941 she married Wilbert Schulz in Garden City, Kansas. A homemaker, Delphine also owned and operated Delphine’s Ceramics where she loved to teach ceramics. She also worked as a bookkeeper at the Phillips 66 station in Lakin and later worked as an assistant at Kiddie Kampus Preschool. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Lakin, the Kearny County Senior Center, and the Prairie Quilters. Delphine enjoyed dancing, quilting, collecting antiques, ceramics, and painting.
Survivors include two daughters Pat & husband Charlie Norton of Leoti, Ks. and Judy & husband Steve Moyer of Lakin, Ks.; daughters-in-law Carol Schulz of Lakin, Ks. and Alfreda Schulz of Oklahoma City, Ok.; 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. Delphine is preceded in death by her husband Wilbert who died on June 23, 1989. She is also preceded in death by her parents; two sons Robert Schulz and Jerry Schulz; and two brothers Francis Fulton and Bud Fulton.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Wesleyan Church in Lakin, Kansas with Rev. Rita Stockton officiating. Burial will follow at the Lakin Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday all at Garnand Funeral Home in Lakin. The family requests memorials given to the Delphine Schulz Memorial Fund in care of the Funeral Home.
