Viola was born in Lubbock and grew up in Houston before eventually starting her family in Garden City. She was a custodian for Garden City Community College for many years. As an avid BINGO player and gambler, she profited from both on many occasions. Her moments of luck were many. A good cook, her family looked forward to their favorite birthday dinner on their special day. She and John enjoyed Tejano music together. She will be missed by family, friends, and all her BINGO cohorts.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister- Maria Tobar.
