Parents: Vernon & Joye (McGee) Adams
Marriage: to Howard Lawrence on June 25, 1963 at Dighton

Membership: United Methodist Church of Dighton


Carolyn attended Grade School and High School in Laverne, Oklahoma. She attended 1 year of college at Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasaw, Oklahoma and finished her Bachelor Of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a double minor in Science and History at Panhandle A&M in Goodwell, Oklahoma. Later in her career she earned the title of Reading Specialist from Fort Hays State University. She taught in Rural schools for 3 years each in Pleasant View, Amy & Alamota and 2nd Grade at Lincoln Primary in Dighton. She along with other teachers set up the first Chapter 1 Reading Program in Dighton. In 1968 she quit teaching to raise her family and help on the family farm while also substitute teaching at Shields. In 1983 she started teaching again at Healy in the 3rd and 4th grades until 1998. She enjoyed shark teeth hunting, fishing and camping, reading and being around her Grandchildren and other kids. She was also involved with 4-H and the Lane County Saddle Club.
