Obituary for Beulah Edmisson

Beulah Edmisson, age 97, of Johnson, Kansas died Saturday, December 24, 2016, at Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in Johnson, Kansas. She was born January 20, 1919, in Hodgeman County, Kansas, the daughter of John Walter Salmans and Daisy Frances Hawkins. She married Robert Roy Edmisson on March 30, 1947, in Johnson.

Beulah moved to Johnson in March of 1947 after marrying Robert Edmisson. Robert and Beulah worked side by side selling Farm Bureau Insurance in Johnson for 36 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Johnson, the VFW Auxiliary, United Methodist Women, and the COSMOS Club of Johnson. She enjoyed reading and embroidery. People looked forward to sharing in her delicious pies and candies.

She is survived by her husband, Robert of Johnson; son, Delmar Edmisson and wife Jo of Blackwell, Oklahoma; daughter, Vicki Stogsdill and husband Don of Normal, Illinois; grandchildren, Greg Edmisson and wife Julie of Johnson, Kansas, Rob Edmisson and wife Gina of St. Joseph, Missouri, Rob Stogsdill and wife Nancy of Prosper, Texas, Mike Stogsdill and wife Michelle of Bloomington, Illinois, Amy Leathery and husband David of Normal, Illinois; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Beulah is preceded in death by her parents; 12 siblings; and one great-grandson, Corbin Dean Edmisson.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church in Johnson, Kansas with Reverend Richard Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, with family present from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM, at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or the First United Methodist Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 715, Johnson, Kansas 67855.
