Russel graduated from Dighton High School in 1949. He was a lifelong farmer and stockman in Lane County. Russel was involved in his community by serving as a Lane County Commissioner for 16 years, board member of Southwest Kansas Mental Health and PCA Board. He enjoyed reading and watching western movies and especially attending his Grandchildren’s athletic events. He was preceded in death by his Parents & 2 Brothers- Richard Speer & Marion Speer.
