Obituary for Dolores H. Perez

Dolores H. Perez, age 85, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Saturday, February 25, 2017, at The Legacy at Park View in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born April 8, 1931, in Bryan, Texas, the daughter of Ignacio and Margarita (Bergara) Hernandez.

Dolores married Ignacio (Pete) Perez on September 28, 1952, in Navasota, Texas. Dolores loved children and operated a daycare. She also enjoyed shopping, singing, dancing and spending time with friends. Dolores enjoyed attending church, listening to the music, and was a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista.

She is survived by her husband, Pete of their home; daughters, Yolanda Hernandez and husband Martin of Ulysses, Kansas, Tina Ochoa and husband Eddie of Ulysses, Kansas, Irene Perez of Garden City, Kansas, and Melissa Perez of Ulysses, Kansas; sons, Eloy Perez and wife Mary of Ulysses, Kansas, Johnnie Perez and wife Maria of Lubbock, Texas, Ignacio Perez, Jr. of Ulysses, Kansas, and Candelario Perez of Ulysses, Kansas; 20 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Dolores is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, one brother, and granddaughter, Nora Perez

Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at 2:00 PM at the Primera Iglesia Bautista in Ulysses with Pastor Manuel Perez officiating. Interment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
