Obituary for Gloria Dunbar

Gloria Dunbar, 63, died Sunday, March 26, 2017 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born June 13, 1953 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin the daughter of Charles “Sonny” and Beverly (Brown) Dunbar.
Gloria grew up and attended school in Platteville, Wisconsin. She moved to Garden City in 1991 and has lived in Garden City since. Gloria has worked for more than 16 years at Dillons. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and she enjoyed arranging flowers and collecting Betty Boop Memorabilia.
Survivors include her husband Jim “Hoot” Auel of Garden City; a daughter Melissa Line of Fennimore, Wisconsin; a step-daughter Pamela Auel of Cassville, Wisconsin; her mother Beverly Dunbar of Platteville, Wisconsin; 3 sisters Lindy & husband Derick Alexander of Seattle, Washington, Jackie & husband Lee Schmeider of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, and DeeDee Dunbar of Platteville, Wisconsin; 2 brothers Danny and wife Deb Dunbar of Platteville, Wisconsin and Randy & wife Dawn Dunbar of Platteville, Wisconsin; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Gloria is preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Von Hunn officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours. The family request memorials given to the Gloria Dunbar Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
