Obituary for Ronald D. Crosley

Ronald D. Crosley, age 82, of Elkhart, Kansas, died Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Morton County Senior Living Community in Elkhart, Kansas. He was born June 27, 1934 in St. Joseph, Missouri the son of Laurel and Alice (Wilson) Crosley.

Ron grew up in Liberal and Elkhart. He was a graduate of Elkhart High School. He served in the US Army in Germany. Ron attended and graduated from Southern Nazarene University in 1960; he then went on to receive his theology degree in 1961. He served as a Nazarene pastor in Texas, Missouri, Kansas, and served in Colorado for 25 years. After retirement he served 14 years as an Interim Pastor in Kansas, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Alabama and Arizona.

He obtained his private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying for over 50 years.

Ron married Barbara A. Barnes on September 4, 1956 at Elkhart, Kansas. She survives.

Other survivors include one daughter; LaRonna Bassett and husband John of Augusta, Kansas; one brother Laurel Lynn Crosley and wife Shirley of Nampa Idaho, four grandchildren, Ryan Crosley, Catelynne Crosley, Candace Shea and Johnathon Bassett. Two great-grandchildren Eliyah Smith and Braydon Shea.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; Laura Flaming and one son; Randall Crosley, one brother; OE (Bill) Crosley and his step Mother; Nina Powell Crosley.

Funeral service will be held Monday, May 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Church of the Nazarene, Elkhart, Kansas with Pastor Keith Davis and Pastor John Bassett officiating. Burial will follow at Elkhart Cemetery, Elkhart, Kansas. Visitation will be Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM with family present at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart, Kansas.
