Obituary for Lesley Ann Foreman

Lesley Ann Foreman, 70, died Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at her home in Holcomb. She was born July 29, 1947 in Garden City the daughter of Francis Leonidas & Hilda Ann (Stevens) Wood.
Lesley grew up in Garden City where she attended school and graduated from Garden City High School. On July 29, 1964, she married Allen Craig Foreman in Garden City. They moved to Detroit, Michigan and lived there from 1965 to 1967 while Allen served in the military. They returned to Holcomb, Kansas in 1967 and have lived in Holcomb since. Lesley worked as a truck driver for the family business for many years. She later worked as a receptionist for Dr. Eichhorn, worked for Wheatland Electric, and then as a secretary for General Petroleum and Robinson Oil. She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Garden City, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and served for many years as a 4-H leader for the Sherlock Strivers 4-H Club. Lesley enjoyed scrapbooking, taking her grandchildren to the movies, boating, water skiing, and her flower garden.
Survivors include her husband Allen Foreman of the home; a son Brian & wife Nancy Foreman of Holcomb, Kansas; a daughter Nicki & husband Jim Bob Wilkening of Lakin, Kansas; a brother Terry Wood of Holcomb, Kansas; and 5 grandchildren Chris Foreman, Rachel Foreman, Alex Foreman, Bryce Foreman, and Shealene Bauer. Lesley is preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Pastor Charlie Bird officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorials given to St. Catherine Hospice in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
