Obituary for Adeline Burgardt

Adeline Burgardt, 92, died Monday, August 21, 2017 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City. She was born June 26, 1925 in St. Peter, Kansas the daughter of Adam Jonh & Eva Beatrice (Richmeier) Knoll.
Adeline moved with her family to Finney County, Kansas in 1937, where she has been a resident of Holcomb and Garden City since. She attended both St. Peter and Holcomb schools. On June 20, 1946, she married Jake Wilfred Burgardt in Garden City. A homemaker, Adeline was also a farm wife and seamstress. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church; the Daughters of Isabella; and the VFW Auxiliary. She loved to spend her time sewing and quilting.
Survivors include 6 children Jerry (Connie) Burgardt of Pratt, KS, Stephen (Kathy) Burgardt of Lakin, KS, Dennis (Bonnie) Burgardt of Minot, ND, Mary Ann (Mike) Vannaman of Garden City, Ks, Evanna (Glen) Brungardt of Garden City, KS, and Tim (Tina) Burgardt of Garden City, KS; a brother Marcellyn Knoll of Garden City, KS; 2 sisters Agnella Horning of Garden City, KS and Cyrilla L’Ecuyer of Eudora, KS; 18 Grandchildren; 45 Great Grandchildren; and 4 Great Great-Grandchildren. Adeline is preceded in death by her parents; 6 brothers; and 3 sisters.
A Vigil service and Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2017 also at St. Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Seiwert as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City. Friends may call from Noon to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family suggests memorials given to St. Mary Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
