Obituary for Donald "Donnie" Gene Thomason

Donald Gene “Donnie” Thomason, age 60, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Friday, August 25, 2017, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born March 31, 1957, in Ulysses, Kansas, the son of Dillard and Delores Ann “Dude” (Hennigh) Thomason.

Donnie was a lifetime resident of Grant County. He graduated from Ulysses High School in 1975 and furthered his education at Seward County Vo-Tech in Liberal, Kansas. Donnie enjoyed many hobbies, including working on cars. He was a member of New Life Church in Ulysses.

He is survived by his son, Joshua Thomason of Topeka, Kansas; daughter, Brooklyn Ingram of Joplin, Missouri; mother, Dude Thomason of Pratt, Kansas; brother, Lawrence Thomason and wife Carolyn of Pratt, Kansas; sister, Jeannie Bushnell and husband George of Ulysses, Kansas; and granddaughter, Christian Ingram.

Donnie is preceded in death by his father, Dillard; grandparents, Ansel and Birdie Thomason, and Lawrence and Lois Hennigh; infant brother, Darrell Gene Thomason; and infant sister, Lois Dell Thomason.

Memorial service will be Saturday, September 2, 2017, at 2:00 PM at New Life Church in Ulysses with Ted Goertzen officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Donald Thomason Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Avenue, Ulysses, KS 67880. There will be a family inurnment at a later date at Ulysses Cemetery.
