Obituary for James "Jim" Randle

James Herschel Randle, age 83, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Thursday, August 31, 2017, in Denver, Colorado. He was born December 4, 1933, in Mountain View, Missouri, the son of Fred and Wilbur Mae (Widener) Randle.

Jim grew up in Mountain View, Missouri. He served in the United States Navy Military Air Transport Service from 1952-1956, and was stationed at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii. On September 18, 1954, Jim married Sandra McGillivray at Hickam Air Force Base Chapel in Hawaii. After serving in the military, they moved to Ulysses, Kansas. They divorced in 1961. On June 2, 1962, at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses, Jim married Marilyn King. He was a farmer/rancher with his father-in-law. Jim also owned Southwest Seed Service and was an Asgrow Seed Dealer. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge #435, Dexter D. Harbour American Legion Post #79, and the American Agricultural Movement.

He is survived by one son, Reverend Cameron Randle and wife Angelica of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two daughters, Barbara Randle Symonds and husband Dr. David Symonds, and Beverly Roth all of Denver, Colorado; brother, Fred Randle and wife Glendal of Hot Springs, Arkansas; sisters, Shirley Randle and wife Judy Buller of Mound Valley, Kansas, and Auda Adler of Carthage, Missouri; grandchildren, Dylan Miller, Angelica C. Garcia, Rachael Roth, Jordan Haskel and Carter Haskel; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; sons, Jeff and Jackie; sisters, Virginia, Vivian, and Loeva; brother, Harold; and parents-in-law, Les and Bernice King.

Memorial service will be Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses with Reverend Todd Guinn officiating. Inurnment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery with military rites by Dexter D. Harbour American Legion Post #79. Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church, Dexter D. Harbour American Legion Post #79, or Al-Anon Family Group in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
