Obituary for Janet Lee Pucket

Janet Lee Pucket, age 56, of Ulysses, Kansas died Wednesday, September 13, 2017, in Finney County, Kansas. She was born November 10, 1960, in Ulysses, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Wayne “Chuck” and Deloris Ann (Barber) Reist.

Janet grew up in Ulysses and graduated from Ulysses High School in 1978. She married Daryl Pucket on June 9, 1978, in Ulysses. Janet helped with their farm and with the bookkeeping and computer work. She was a swim official, liaison, head referee and starter for the Missouri Valley Swim Club. She was a volunteer at school and took every opportunity to babysit her family anytime and anywhere. Janet also played in the bell choir at church.

She is survived by her husband, Daryl Pucket of Ulysses; children, Brenna Adair Pucket of Garden City, Keldon W. Pucket and wife Betsy of Wichita, and Courtney Elizabeth Pucket of Golden, Colorado; mother, Deloris Rensch and husband Ed of Canton, Oklahoma; brothers, Steve Reist and wife Teri of Cuero, Texas, James Reist and wife Kim of Austin, Texas, Mike Reist and wife Jennifer of Cheney; and two grandchildren, Gage Pucket and Adam Pucket.

Janet is preceded in death by her dad, Charles Wayne Reist; and grandparents, Lester and Juanita Adair, and Earl and Katherine Reist.

Memorial service will be Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at 10:00 AM at the Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses with Reverend Kelly Gindlesberger officiating. Inurnment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Make A Wish Foundation in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W.
