Julio Ronquillo, age 67, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Via Christi - St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He was born April 12, 1950, in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, the son of Ignacio and Urbana (Hernandez) Ronquillo.

Julio grew up in Santa Elena, Chihuahua, Mexico, and has lived in Ulysses since the 1980’s. He worked for WT Contractors since moving to Ulysses. Julio enjoyed dancing and listening to Mexican music.

He is survived by his wife, Elia Armida (Mendoza) Ronquillo of the home; sons, Julio Jr., of Texas, Orlando, Ivan and Jorge all of Ulysses; daughters, Irasema of Arizona, Sonia and Johana of Texas; brothers, Ernesto and Sergio; sister, Eva; and ten grandchildren.

Julio is preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, Juan Manuel, Gilberto, Oscar, Isidro, and Ramon.

Vigil service will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at 7:00 PM and funeral mass will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses with Reverend Peter Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, December 5, 2017, from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
