Obituary for Madeline Hernandez

Madeline Meza Hernandez, age 68, of Clyde, Texas, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. She was born January 1, 1949, in Menard, Texas, the daughter of Bonifacio and Dolores Meza.

Madeline attended Ulysses High School and graduated in 1969. She went on to become a unit secretary at Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. She was a faithful Catholic at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a dedicated mother, devoted grandmother, and loyal friend.

She is survived by her sons, Juan Hernandez, Jr. of Abilene, Texas, David Hernandez and wife Brenda of Sebastian, Florida, and Samuel Hernandez of Abilene, Texas; daughter, Ramona Wyatt and husband Michael of Clyde, Texas; brothers, Manuel Meza and wife Irma of Ulysses, Kansas, Modesto Meza and wife Naomi Meza of Mineral Wells, Texas, Joe Meza and wife Karen of Grand Prairie, Texas; sisters, Lupe Beohler and Sally Carson both of Ulysses, Kansas, Victoria Lewis of Conroe, Texas, Linda Zuniga and husband Ruben of Fritch, Texas, Mary Lou Garcia of Dodge City, Kansas; grandchildren, Brittany Wallace of Abilene, Texas, Isabella, David Jr., Sophia and Alexandra of Sebastian, Florida, Michael Hernandez of Abilene, Texas; great-grandson, Derek Williams of Abilene, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved friends.

Madeline is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Clementine Poppe, Debbie Medina, and Janie Meza; brother, BL Meza; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Meza; brothers-in-law, Bill Beohler and Doyle Lewis; nieces, Michelle Hernandez and Martha Meza; and nephews, Mike Rincon and Brian Meza.

Vigil and rosary service will be held Friday, December 15, 2017, at 7:00 PM and funeral mass will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 16, 2017, both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Peter Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, December, 15, 2017, from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
