Garden City- Jeffrey “Jeff” Holmes, formerly of Garden City died on Friday, January 26, 2018 at his home in Colwich. He was born on October 1, 1964 at Garden City the son of Dean & Shirla Holmes.

Jeff grew up in Garden City and graduated from Garden City High School in 1983. While in high school he was a standout on the football, basketball & track teams and was selected the Outstanding Athlete his senior year. He continued his athletic career in pole vaulting at Kansas State University and graduated from KSU in 1988.

After graduating he was a career long Claims Adjustor and Representative for State Farm Insurance Company. He has lived in the Wichita area since 2014.

He is survived by his Son- Drake Holmes of the Home, Father- Dean Holmes of Amarillo, Texas, Mother- Shirla Holmes of Garden City, Sister- Regina & John Lovell of Amarillo, Texas, 2 Brothers- Lyle & LaDawn Holmes of Platte City, Missouri & Craig Holmes & Betty Becker of Lakeway, Texas, Nieces & Nephews- Sarah Holmes, Mitch & Alyssa Holmes, Lindy & Chuck Waltrip, Amanda Holmes, Tyke Holmes & Jace Holmes, Great Nieces & Nephews- Zada Holmes, Maralee Holmes & C.J. Waltrip.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Saturday at Garden Valley Church in Garden City with Rev Tom Scott & Rev Steve Ensz officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 PM Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City.
