Richie was born and raised in Garden City. He graduated from Garden City High School and later from Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland Kansas. He worked for Black Hills Energy for 7 years and most recently for Sunflower Electric for 3 years. His hobbies included caring for all things in God’s creations; family, beloved pets and animals, plants, and his ranch. He loved his family, wife, and girls and worked hard to provide them with joy, and the love of God he knew from a young age. His legacy lives on through his daughters. His infectious smile brought much love to family, friends, and co-workers. His passion, positive energy, and outlook on life inspired everyone.

Visitation will be 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Friday February 2, 2018 at Garnand Funeral Home and Mass of the Resurrection will also be Friday February 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Prieto Children Education Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N 7th St, Garden City, KS 67846
