Obituary for Deana Gaye Higgins

Deana Gaye Higgins, 65, died Friday, February 9, 2018, at the Catholic Care Center in Wichita, Kansas. Deana was born in Hugoton, Kansas on September 15, 1952, to Clarence “Dean” & Betty Barrows. She was preceded in death by both parents. She married, Alan Higgins on January 30, 1971, at the United Methodist Church in Hugoton, Kansas. She is survived by her husband, Alan. Other survivors include one son, Brian Higgins and wife Ami, Wichita; one daughter, Heather Love and husband, Robert, Wichita; three grandsons, Parker Higgins, Layton Love, Hunter Higgins; and three granddaughters, Taylor Higgins, London Love, Haylee Higgins, all of Wichita. Other survivors include three brothers, Larry Barrows and wife Geri, Liberal, KS; Ted Barrows, Tulsa, OK; and Steve Barrows and wife Jodi, Weatherford, TX. Deana’s faith was strong and she loved her family in an amazing way. Throughout her life, she was actively involved in many activities. She enjoyed organizing and judging various pageants and talent shows, and stayed busy keeping track of her grandkids. Deana’s fun laugh and sweet smile will be missed. A graveside celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Gary Stafford officiating. Garnand Funeral Home of Hugoton is handling the arrangements, and burial will be at the Hugoton Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Alan Higgins, Brian Higgins, Robert Love, Parker Higgins, Layton Love and Hunter Higgins.
