Obituary for Michael Anthony Hartman

Michael Anthony Hartman, age 50, of Independence, Missouri died Monday, February 12, 2018 at his home. He was born May 30, 1967 in Corpus Christi, Texas the son of Ronald John and Judith Ann (Melcenchek Rodriguez) Hartman.

Michael grew up in Lakin, Kansas and graduated from Lakin High School in 1985. He earned a BS degree from Bethany College and a Master’s Degree in Music from Kansas University. He was a very talented musician and played numerous instruments, he was also an accomplished swimmer. Michael had worked at KU Med in Kansas City and was currently working at Briova RX as an infusion services intake coordinator.

Michael is survived by his parents Ronald and Judith Hartman of Lakin, Kansas. Four brothers, Michael Alan Hartman of Chanute, Kansas, Garnett Armand Hartman of Lakin, Kansas, Robert Allen Hartman of Kansas City, Kansas and Ronald Patrick Hartman of Ulysses, Kansas; two sisters Viki Ann Hartman-Crellin of Chanute, Kansas and Darlene Lawley of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other family.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents; Franklin and Victoria Rodriguez and Orville and Hazel Hartman.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home, Lakin, Kansas. Private family services will be held and burial will be at the Lakin Cemetery. The family requests no flowers or memorials but would rather you perform an act of kindness in memory of Michael.
