Obituary for Pauline G. Sculley

Dighton- Pauline G. Sculley, 80, died on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Lane County Hospital in Dighton. She was born on June 7, 1937 at Beeler the daughter of Paul & Mable (Watson) Stull. She married Richard J Sculley on March 18, 1956 at Dighton.

Pauline grew up east of Beeler down the railroad tracks and walked to school every day. She graduated from Beeler High School in 1955 where she was known as a great saxophone player and received many #1 ratings in competition. She became a CNA and worked at Lane County Hospital and after moving to Emporia in 1974 at St Mary’s Hospital. She and her husband owned and operated nursing homes in Emporia and Salina. They returned to Dighton in 2013. In her earlier years she coached girls softball. She and her husband enjoyed square dancing but her passion was taking care of the elderly. Later she enjoyed following her Grandchildren’s athletic events. She was preceded in death by her Parents and Sister- Beth Lile.

Survivors include her Husband- Richard Sculley of the Home, Daughter- Debra Rathke of Emporia, Son- Rod Sculley of Tyron, Oklahoma, Sister- Arlene Birney of Wheatridge, Colorado, 3 Grandsons, 1 Granddaughter, 7 Great-Grandsons & 2 Great-Granddaughters.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Dighton with Rev Berniece Ludlum officiating. Burial will be in Dighton Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 PM Friday at Boomhower Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Lane County Hospital in care of Boomhower Funeral Home.
