Obituary for Donald Grasz

Donald Grasz, age 72, of Elkhart, Kansas, died Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas. He was born October 27, 1945, in Elkhart, the son of Raymond Fredrick and Marie (Smith) Grasz.

Donald was a lifetime resident of Elkhart. He married Brenda Emmert on July 3, 1966, in Elkhart. Donald worked for Panhandle Eastern for 25 years, owned the Phillips 66 Station, and then retired form Point Rock Golf Course after 15 years. He was one of the founding owners of Gem Dandy. He enjoyed playing golf, riding motorcycles, bowling, fishing, and trap shooting.

Survivors include his wife Brenda of the home; son, A’Don Tate Grasz of Ponca City, Oklahoma; daughter, Jodi Tedder and husband Chris of Greensburg; sisters, Shirley Crosley and husband Lynn of Nampa, Idaho, Barbara Procyzyn of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Peggy Pierce of Danville, Virginia; brother-in-laws, Rick Emmert and wife J’neen of Fairfield, Texas, Mike Emmert and wife Tammy of Elkhart, Jeff Emmert and wife Brenda of Sunray, Texas; aunt, Ruth Smith of Elkhart; and six grandchildren, Remington, Domini, and Lone Grasz, and Rhylan, Colby, and Cambree Tedder. Also, numerous nieces, nephews and other loved ones.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial service will be Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 2:00 PM at the Church of the Nazarene in Elkhart, Kansas, with Pastor Keith Davis and Rick Emmert officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date at the Elkhart Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Wounded Warrior Project, Samaritan’s Purse, Morton County Historical Society Museum, or the donor’s choice all in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
