Obituary for Joan Coleman
Dighton- Joan Coleman, 82, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Manor Of The Plains in Dodge City. She was born on December 21, 1935 at Halstead the daughter of John & Ruby Francis (Hendrixson) Sowers. She married Henry E. Coleman on January 12, 1954 at Dighton. He died on January 30, 2011.
Joan was raised in Dighton and graduated from Dighton High School in 1953. She was a Homemaker and helped at the Lane County Library and the community thrift shop. She was a member of the Lane County Arts Council and enjoyed weaving rugs, painting and reading many books. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband & Daughter-In-Law Jayrene Coleman.
She is survived by 3 Sons- J. Scott Coleman & Jon Coleman both of Dighton and Dale and Shannon Coleman of Dodge City and 5 Grandsons.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton with Rev Aerii Smith officiating. Burial will be in Dighton Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday and 9:00 AM to Service Time Saturday at Boomhower Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Lane County Library in care of Boomhower Funeral Home.
