Obituary for Jeremy C. Scofield

Jeremy C. Scofield, 43, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at his home in Garden City. He was born April 14, 1974 on a US Aircraft in the airspace above Ankara, Turkey. He was the son of Bruce R. Scofield, II and Mehtap (Gelin) Scofield Taylor.
Jeremy lived with his family in various places throughout the world. He moved to Garden City in 1996 from Manhattan, Kansas. He served in the United States Army. After moving to Garden City, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Lee Construction. He was a member of the NRA, and he enjoyed motorcycles, traveling and his dogs “Chase” and “Hans.”
Survivors include his father Bruce R. Scofield, II of Elgin, South Carolina; his mother Mehtap Taylor of San Maria, California; a sister Jennifer & husband John Haag of Lincoln, Nebraska; and a niece Ashley Scofield.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Brother Checko Vallejo officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorials given to the Finney County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
