Obituary for Delia N. Cruz

Delia N. Cruz, 65, died Thursday April 12, 2018 at her home in Garden City, Kansas. She was born September 16, 1952 In Crosby Texas.

Delia was born and raised in Crosby Texas before moving to Garden City in 1971. She married Sam Cruz Jr. on May 21, 1972 in Garden City, Kansas and they started a family. He survives. She was a dependable, hard worker at Dillon’s West in the Deli Department for 12 years, having never missed a day. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and attended regularly. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, playing BINGO and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Nino and Grandmother Virginia Nino .

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children; Samantha Torres and Andy Cruz of Fort Smith Arkansas; four grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and other extended family.


Rosary will be 7:00 pm, Monday April 16, 2018 and Mass of the Resurrection will be 11:00 am , Tuesday April 17, 2018, both at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Juan Salas officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. There will be no calling hours at Garnand Funeral Home. The family request memorials to the Delia Cruz Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
