Ramon Ramirez, 71, died Thursday July 12, 2018 at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born May 18, 1947, the son of Cornelio Ramirez Salgado and Otilia Ramirez Medina in Parral, Durango, Mexico.

Mr. Ramirez was born, raised, and attended schools in Mexico. After coming to the United States in 1983 he obtained his GED and worked as a custodian a USD 457 for 27 years. He enjoyed visiting with people and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors include his siblings, Juan Ramirez of Garden City & Magdalena Silva Ramirez of Wichita Falls, Texas & numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Antonio Ramirez, Rosario Ramirez, Evaristo Ramirez, Luis Ramirez, Saturnina Ramirez, Ignacia Cruz, Victor Ramirez and Pedro Ramirez


Rosary will be 7:00 pm Sunday July 15, 2018 & Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Monday July 16, 2018 both at St. Mary Catholic Church. Friends may call Sunday July 15, 2018 from 12:00 to 5:00 pm at Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N 7th Street, Garden City. Memorials are to the Ramon Ramirez Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
