She was a wonderful cook and passed down the art to her children and grandchildren. She loved gardening specifically growing her own vegetables and canning those for her family and friends and spent countless hours in her flower beds harvesting the perfect bouquet for the table, friends or a county fair entry. JoAnn never met a stranger and made a friend everywhere she went. Over the past year, the numerous medical staff who cared for her easily grew to love her.

Darrell and JoAnn recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. JoAnn was a member of the First United Methodist Church and participated in numerous church committees, church groups and Sunday school class. She was a very active 4-H parent and 4-H project leader.
