Obituary for Mary Charlotte Solley

Garden City- Mary Charlotte Solley, 84, died on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal. She was born on March 30, 1934 at Ringwood, Oklahoma the daughter of Floyd Garst & Mary Marie (Smith) Clark. She married Gene Hoffine in 1949. She later married Howard L. Solley on April 12, 1974 at Ulysses.

Mary moved to Pratt at a young age and did her regular schooling and Cosmetology School in Pratt. She worked as a Beautician in Pratt, Haven and Buhler for many years until moving to Ulysses in 1972 where she was a Grocery Store Clerk and Beautician. In 1990 she moved to Garden City and helped her husband in the family business. She attended United Pentecostal and Assembly of God churches. During her life she enjoyed softball, bowling, sewing and making trinkets and crafts. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Son- Matthew Hoffine and 2 Sisters and 4 Brothers.

She is survived by her Husband- Howard Solley, 3 Sons- Larry Hoffine of Dodge City, Gary & Kaye Hoffine of Breckenridge, Texas & Mark Hoffine of Dodge City, 3 Daughters- Mary Lynn & Lewis Danner of Butler, Missouri, Candice Sue & Kerry Duer of Hooker, Oklahoma & Angela Mae & Larry Finlayson of Thornton, Colorado, Step-Son- James Solley of Wichita, 2 Brothers- Marion Clark of Denver, Colorado & Milford Clark of Cheyenne, Wyoming, 14 Grandchildren, 40 Great-Grandchildren & 6 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Memorials are suggested to Wheatridge Park Care Center or St Catherine Hospice in care of Garnand Funeral Home. Condolences may be posted at www.garnandfuneralhomes.com
