Elisa Camargo, age 44, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Sunday, September 9, 2018, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born April 4, 1974, in Ulysses, Kansas, the daughter of Alfredo and Juanita (Martinez) Garza.

Elisa was a lifetime resident of Ulysses, graduating from Ulysses High School. She will be remembered for her caring spirit, big heart, and beautiful smile. Elisa’s joy in life was raising her three boys to be respectful and to care for others in need. She was always rescuing kittens.

Elisa is survived by her sons, Jose Camargo, Alfredo Marcus Camargo and wife Nora, and Marcos Ochoa all of Ulysses, Kansas; mother, Juanita Garza of Ulysses, Kansas; brothers, Rey Benavidez, Jr. and Gabriel Lee Benavidez both of Hobbs, New Mexico; sisters, Rachel Flores and Stella Rodriguez both of Midland, Texas, Victoria Flores of Hobbs, New Mexico, Ruby Garza and Sylvia Garza both of Ulysses, Kansas; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Elisa is preceded in death by her father, and grandparents.

Funeral service will be Friday, September 14, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses with Pastor Carlos Garza officiating. Interment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, September 13, 2018, from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM with rosary from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Avenue in Ulysses.
