Obituary for Roger Eric Brown

Roger Eric Brown, 47, died Sunday, September 23, 2018 in Abilene, Texas. He was born October 17, 1970 in Garden City the son of Dennis R. & Delores Marie (Hermocillo) Brown.
Eric grew up in Garden City where he attended Garden City schools. He attended St. Mary Catholic School, then attended and graduated from Garden City High School in 1989. He then attended Garden City Community College. Eric then lived in California for a short time before moving to Texas, where he lived in Abilene and Schertz. He worked in construction for Pro Build while living in Garden City. Eric then worked as a supervisor in the oil fields and most recently worked as a handyman for Sapper Cut, LLC. He was a member of the West Texas Hog Riders and the Scleroderma Foundation. He enjoyed woodworking, construction, cooking, Bar-B-Que, racing, riding his Harley, college football, and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.
Survivors include two children Christopher Eric & wife Heather Brown of Okinawa, Japan and Erika & husband Joshua Ales of Abilene, Texas; his parents Dennis & Delores Brown of Abilene, Texas; a brother Brian & wife Alicia Brown of Schertz, Texas; two sisters Lisa & husband Deon Little of Oswego, Illinois and Tina & husband Steven Mesa of Olathe, Kansas; and three Grandchildren Tyler Brown, Natalie Brown, and Delilah Brown. Eric is preceded in death by a brother Victor Brown and a sister Melissa Brown.
A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City with Fr. Juan Salas as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday all at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family suggests memorials given to the Roger Eric Brown Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
