Doris Ilene Adams McMichael, 89, died on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at High Plains Retirement Village in Lakin. She was born on July 3, 1929 at Lakin the daughter of Martin & Chloe (Greeson) Barnes. She married Clarence “Tiny” Adams on May 16, 1947 at Syracuse. He died in January of 1981. She later married Paul Harrison McMichael on October 30, 1986 at Lakin. He died on July 29, 1995.

Doris attended Lakin schools. She was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church of Lakin and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, especially pitch and pinochle, bowling, dancing, traveling and being involved with her Grandchildren’s and Great-Grandchildren’s activities. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husbands, Son- Ken Adams, 4 Brothers- Virgil Barnes, Vernon Barnes, Ralph Barnes & Daryl Barnes, 3 Sisters- Vada McMichael, Vera Barnes & Wilda Tallant and 1 Grandson- Luke Adams.

Survivors include 1 Son- Bill & Wife Ann Adams of Garden City, Daughter- Carol Adams of Springfield, Missouri, 8 Grandchildren & 18 Great-Grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be at 2:30 PM Saturday at Lakin Cemetery with Rev Aaron Duell officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Kearny County Senior Center in care of Garnand Funeral Home. Condolences may be posted at www.garnandfuneralhomes.com
