Betty Ruth (Williamson) Eastepp, of Lamar, Colorado, formerly of Rolla, Kansas, went to be with her Lord at her home in Lamar on the 8th day of October 2009 at the age of 83 under the tender and watchful care of Lamar Hospice. She was born on May 22, 1926, in Manter, Kansas, the fourth of the seven children of Rollie Ray and Mozelle Williamson.
During her high school years in Logan, New Mexico, she met and married Douglas Eastepp. The couple was married August 12, 1943. Douglas served in the Navy and they moved to San Diego, California. While in California, Betty helped the war effort when she worked in a defense plant.
Following their time in California the couple moved back to Logan, New Mexico, where two children were added to this union. Douglas Dean was born September 13, 1946 in Tucumcari, New Mexico, and Etta Faye was born July 13, 1948 in Tucumcari, New Mexico.

Besides working as a homemaker, Betty sold Avon for many years. She also worked in the Rolla Credit Union in Rolla, Kansas, and Plains Credit Union in Plains, Kansas. When she and Doug moved back to Rolla they worked and operated Doug’s Motel and the greenhouse until they retired.
Betty loved music and she loved to entertain family and friends and a good game of cards always followed the food. She was a charter member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Rolla, Kansas, and a lifetime member of the Morton County Historical Society. She also supported many community projects over the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Douglas Eastepp, brothers, Gerald, Charles and Bob Williamson and sister, Helen Barnes.

Survivors include her son, Douglas Dean Eastepp of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter, Etta Faye and husband Gary Harbert of Lamar, Colorado; sisters, Faye Nugent of Quitman, Arkansas, and Francis Richardson of Elkhart, Kansas; sister-in-law, Velda Williamson of Guymon, Oklahoma; four grandsons, and nine great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews. |
