Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, Kansas.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ulysses with The Reverend Michael J. Bridge officiating.
Interment: Golden Cemetery in rural Grant County, Kansas.

Helen M. Kepley, age 91, died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton, Kansas. She was born May 27, 1918 in Edwards County, Kansas, the daughter of James Edward and Viola (Baker) King.

Helen moved to Ulysses in the 1920’s. She moved to Missouri and back again in the 1930’s and has resided in Ulysses since. Helen, a homemaker, was a founding member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, a member of the Golden EHU, and a past Grant County Cemetery board member, Helen married Edward Kepley on July 31, 1939 in Ulysses. He preceded her in death on November 12, 2008.

Survivors include three sons, Marshall and wife Berta of Hugoton, Kansas, Jim and wife Linda of Ulysses, Kansas, David and wife Ann of Elgin, Illinois; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, brother John King, sister Marion Wolfe, and one granddaughter, Karen Kepley.

Memorial contributions may be given to the St. John’s Episcopal Church, Pioneer Manor, or Historic Adobe Museum all in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
