Robert Earl Barton, age 56, died Friday, October 23, 2009 at Robert J. Dole Veterans Administration Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born December 25, 1952 in Archer City, Texas the son of Earl and Lillie (Peters) Barton. |
Robert attended school in Dumas, Texas and Lamar, Colorado. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, stationed in Germany. After his discharge he lived in Texas, Pratt, Kansas and Colorado before moving to Dighton in 2005. He had worked for Midwest Feeders in Ingalls, The Lane County Road Department and currently was a truck driver for Wick Grain Company. Robert had been married to Debra Ruth James. He later married Donna Jean Hage on April 16, 2001 in Sugar City, Texas. She preceded him in death on December 11, 2007. He enjoyed fishing, mechanics, playing the guitar and riding motorcycles. Robert was a member of the American Legion Post #190 of Dighton. |
Robert is survived by three daughters, Lori Coen of Commerce City, Colorado, Renee Barton and Amy Barton both of Eads, Colorado; one son, John Barton of Eads, Colorado; three step-daughters, Anita Hage and Rebecca Rivera both of Dighton, Kansas, Cindy Hage of Calihan, Colorado; two step-sons, James Hage and Chad Hage both of Dighton, Kansas; three brothers, Benny Barton of Austin, Texas, David Salazar of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, J.J. Salazar of Lamar, Colorado; three sisters, Linda Salinas of Lamar, Colorado, Sara Santillaenz and Carman Judson both of Denver, Colorado; 14 grandchildren; and step-father, Luis Martinez of Lamar, Colorado. |
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Albert and one grandson, Dylan. |
