Esther E. Wigner, age 80, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born March 27, 1929 in Oakhurst, Oklahoma the daughter of Elzie and Merle (Kiehl) Hallmark. |
Esther has lived in Garden City for the past 35 years moving from Larned. In her earlier years she worked as a waitress and a grocery store clerk before becoming a homemaker and raising her family. Esther married George Wigner he preceded her in death on November 4, 2005. Esther enjoyed quilting, gardening, raising flowers and any kind of games or playing cards with her grandchildren. |
Survivors include four sons, Lesley Flynn, Michael Hahn, and David Hahn all of Garden City, Kansas, Norman Hahn of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one brother, William "Billy" Hallmark of Salida, Colorado; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. |
Esther was preceded in death by her parents, son Virgil, and two brothers, Alfred Hallmark and Kenny Hallmark. |
