Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 31, 2009 at First Church of God in Elkhart, Kansas with Reverend Gary Murrell officiating.
Interment: Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart, Kansas.

Geraldine J. Madsen, age 83, died Monday, October 26, 2009 at Morton County Special Care Unit in Elkhart, Kansas. She was born April 08, 1926 in Sterling, Colorado the daughter of Fred and Caroline (Jacobe) Tate.

Geraldine graduated from Sterling High School in Sterling, Colorado. She married August Luft in 1944 in Sterling, Colorado. Gerry worked hard all her life doing everything from milking cows to bookkeeping while raising her four children. In her later years she worked as a bookkeeper. In April 1972 she married Glenn Madsen in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death. She enjoyed singing, gardening, and being around other people.

Survivors include her sister, Maxine Coakley of Sterling, Colorado; her children, Tim Luft of Bandera, Texas, Susan Crisswell of Edmond, Oklahoma, Annette Scott and husband Tom of Elkhart, Kansas, Tom Luft and wife Teresa of Ellensburg, Washington; eight grandchildren, Chris Scott and wife Becky of Elkhart, Kansas, Pat Crisswell and wife Tammy of Miles City, Montana, Kelly Scott of Dalhart, Texas, Seth Crisswell of Edmond, Oklahoma, Sarah Christian and husband J.D. of Jones, Oklahoma, Josey Williams and husband Daniel of Ellensburg, Washington, Shane Luft of Ellensburg, Washington, Nikki Luft of Bandera, Texas; four great-great-grandchildren, Cody and Ben Crisswell, Camryn Scott and Kassidi Christian.

Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents and brother Bud Tate.
