Visitation: 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, Noon to 8:00 p.m. Sunday with family present from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. and 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday , at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton, Kansas.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 16, 2009 at St. Theresa Catholic Church with Father Warren Stecklein officiating.
Interment: Dighton Memorial Cemetery in Dighton, Kansas.

Dwayne C. Seifried, age 58, died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Lane County Hospital in Dighton, Kansas. He was born December 15, 1950 in Quinter, Kansas, the son of Chester Henry and Viola Marie (Weiser) Seifried.

Dwayne attended Theoni Grade School in Finney County through the fifth grade. He then attended school in Dighton graduating from Dighton High School in 1968. He attended Kansas State University. Dwayne married Roberta Sue Shaffer on November 29, 1969 in Dighton. Dwayne was active in his community serving on the Lane County Fairboard, Lane County Saddle Club, Lane County Bowling Association and Pheasants Forever. Dwayne was the Amy Elevator Branch Manager for the Garden City Co-op and was the Garden City Co-op Safety Committee Chairman. As a youngster Dwayne worked for Mumma Feed Yard. Prior to his employment at the elevator, he had worked for Tom Young Appliance, Ranger Feeders, Mark Krehbiel Construction and Pettay Trucking. Dwayne was an avid sportsman who enjoyed watching his dogs on point as much as he loved hunting the birds. He loved his family and will be greatly missed. Dwayne was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.

Dwayne is survived by his wife Roberta of the home; two sons, Shannon and wife Heidi of Dighton, Kansas, Brandon and wife Heather of Kalvesta, Kansas; mother, Viola Seifried of Dighton; sister, Sharilyn Corbitt of Carmichael, California; brother, Bryant Seifried of Palm Springs, California; four grandchildren, Maegan Noel Seifried, Trystan Dwayne Seifried, Alex Wade Seifried and Logan Dwayne Seifried.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his father.
