Linda Sue Farmer, age 60, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at her home in Garden City, Kansas. She was born June 29, 1949 in Garden City, Kansas, the daughter of Harry J. and Doris A. (Danielson) Johnson. |
Linda grew up in Garden City and attended Garden City schools. She then moved to Texas and California and worked as a server in the food industry. She married Junious B. Farmer on June 6, 1972 in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1992 she moved back to Garden City and worked as a server and a census taker. On August 5, 2000 Junious died. Linda currently was working for the Center for Independent Living as an information and referral specialist. Linda enjoyed her pets, crafts, gardening, cooking and knitting. She raised geese and decorated their eggs for special gifts. |
Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Helen Farmer Newman of Holcomb, Kansas; son, Bryan Junious Farmer of Garden City, Kansas; step-son, John Eugene Farmer of Garden City, Kansas; step-daughter, Venus Maureen Rowland of Garden City, Kansas; mother, Doris Johnson of Garden City, Kansas; two brothers, Larry Johnson of Holcomb, Kansas, Kent Johnson of Hooker, Oklahoma; two sisters, Karen Dyer of Holcomb, Kansas, Cheryl Johnson of Aurora, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Carly Newman, Cameron Newman, Brainna Rowland, John Morey, Michael Farmer, Kathryn Byers, Kayleen Farmer, Candice Rowland; and one great-grandson, Jerry Allred-Farmer. |
Linda was preceded in death by her father, husband, sister, Lisa William and a special aunt, Helen Rose Johnson. |
