Marian L. Martin, age 74, died Wednesday January 6, 2010 at her home in Dighton, Kansas. She was born September 4, 1935 in Garden City, Kansas the daughter of Roy Miles and Leah Elizabeth (Litzenberger) Martin.

Marian was raised on the family farm in northeast Finney county and graduated from Garden City High School. She married Larry Buell, they later divorced. She and her husband lived in Kingman, Garden City, Lakin and Hastings, Nebraska where she worked at K-Mart. She moved to Wichita and then back to Garden City where she worked at Wal-Mart. She has lived in Dighton for the past five years. Marian was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Joann Frerichs of Juniata, Nebraska, Susan Gridley of Dighton, Kansas; mother, Leah Martin of Garden City, Kansas; three brothers, Roy Martin, Jr. of
Arnold, Kansas, Virgil Martin and Darrell Martin both of Dighton, Kansas; two sisters, Edith Snyder of Wichita, Kansas, Betty Brungardt of Garden City, Kansas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Marian is preceded in death by her father, one brother Herman "Bud" Martin, and one sister Erma Martin.
