George C. Fira, age 31, died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Garden City, Kansas. He was born September 26, 1978 in Johnson, Kansas, the son of Fidencio V. “Fred” and Mary (Correa) Fira.
George attended school in Johnson and liked working on the farm when he was growing up. He currently lived in Pratt, Kansas and was employed with a harvest crew. He enjoyed playing football and soccer. George was a member of the St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Johnson, Kansas.

Survivors include his son, Ivan Fira of Garden City, Kansas; daughter, Cassie Fira of Garden City, Kansas; mother of Johnson, Kansas; five sisters, Ofelia Elliott, Celia Fira, Mary Alice Fira, Alice Gonzales, Kansas, Mary Ann Fira; two brothers, Henry Fira, Andy Fira; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Fidencio Fira, Jr.
