Gary L. Barker 60, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 in Finney County. He was born on February 26, 1949 in Garden City, Kansas the son of Harold “Bud” and Patricia (Lundblade) Barker.

Gary was born in Garden City, Kansas, his family relocated to Atchison, Kansas where Gary attended and graduated form Atchison High School. After high school he continued his education at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, before moving to North Dakota and Phoenix, Arizona where he worked in construction. In 1988 Gary returned to Garden City where he worked in the Maintenance Department for IBP which is now Tyson Fresh Meats Inc. for 22 years. On June 5, 2000 Gary married Janette Finley in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2008 Gary and Janette relocated to Holcomb, Kansas where he would remain. Gary was an avid golfer, he was also a dirt track race fan, he enjoyed county music and dancing and he loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of the home; a step-daughter, Vonda Finley of Garden City, Kansas; a step son, Weston and wife Karen Finley of Nixa, Missouri; three brothers, Terry Barker of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Dean Barker of Garden City, Kansas, and Keith Barker of Blue Springs, Missouri; three sisters, Dorothy Huff of Scott City, Kansas, Brenda Barker of Greeley, Colorado and Wanda Jones of Iowa; a step-sister, Sandy Smith of Scott City, Kansas; and four grandchildren.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
