Cathy Sue Colby, age 57, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010 at her home in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born September 30, 1952 in Smith Center, Kansas, the daughter of Dave and Helen “Chris” (Paulsen) Colby.

Cathy attended the Phillipsburg, Kansas school system graduating with the Phillipsburg High School class of 1970. She continued her education obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree at Fort Hays State University in Special Education-Teaching. Later on in life she completed her Master’s Degree through Friend’s University. Ms. Colby devoted her life to teaching children in various school systems throughout Kansas. She took pride in her work and educational achievements. Cathy was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary in Russell, Kansas.

Survivors include two brothers, David of Coffeyville, Kansas, Charles of Norton, Kansas; two sisters, Karen Eihausen of Aurora, Colorado and Mary Stanton of Logan, Kansas.

Ms. Colby is preceded in death by her father and mother.
|
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880 is in charge of arrangements.
